With all the possibilities of today's smartphones, I'm surprised this is an option to be honest. While I don't use this feature often, it is nice to have. But does it really make a difference in the quality of videos we produce. Do you think it does that much better than 1080p recording? I would say no it does not, just based on the two videos I show here with two of the top smartphones.
I decided to take some video from both phones, and compare the two. To my surprise, I prefer the Moto X over the Note 4 in the videos I recorded. That doesn't mean the Moto X has the better camera, but in this particular capture it did better to me. The Moto X appeared to be move vibrant in colors than the Note 4, and blacks were deeper. Pictures on the Note 4 are much better in my opinion, and look more vibrant and clear. But this is about video capture in 4k, and the Moto X takes the win in my book. The Moto X also came across more smooth when panning left to right. Check out both videos, and tell me what you think.

So I decided to upgrade my Moto X 2014 to lollipop, and the tests were very surprising!
As you saw in the video above, there was not much difference in the benchmark test. In fact the lollipop software performed worse in some areas. So what is this mean about benchmark test? To me, it means they are pointless just like drop test.
In real-world test in users do not care about benchmarks, only the techies from time to time will look at benchmarks. I don't know about you but I personally, do not care for benchmarks. What are we really looking for? Sometimes I only do benchmarks at the request of some of my subscribers, and that was the focus of this article. The subscriber requested this so I decided to upload it to my blog, instead of YouTube as there are tons of benchmark test on the Moto X already.
People often ask me to benchmark every device that I have, and to that I say no thank you. To me it gives an impression that the device is nowhere near as good as what it really is, and it proves nothing about the device. It's kind of like driving a Ferrari, and testing the 0 to 60. What is the purpose of that test? If you have cutting edge technology under the hood why do you need to test it? So when it comes to cell phones like the Moto X 2014, it has some of the best hardware under the body. So benchmarks to me are pointless! But I always like to give my subscribers what they want, and that's my opinion. Because I'm sure that in most cases we looked on the net for our phone; and watched videos on our phone; to find out what other people think about her phone. Only to find that some people don't feel the same way you do, and it leads you to doubt your brand new device. We've all done this, and we've all fell victim at some point or another, to what someone else is saying about our device and got offended by it.
If you buy something based on solely on what someone else says, and never test it....you deserve the outcome if you are not happy. I think the Moto X is a wonderful device, and will enjoy it for some time to come (at least until it does not work anymore, lol). But until then, forget about benchmark test, and focus on what really matters about your devices. The enjoyment you get when you power it on, and it's just what you wanted and does what you want it to do.

One choice that I do have, is being able to select between many devices daily. After having the first Moto X, I customized it and thought I would like it. Now that I've got my hands on the second Moto X, I phone in love with it. I can't stress or put into words how beautiful I think Moto make her really is. Have any option to make your device your own, is a powerful thing! When will other OEM manufactures get on board and start to realize this?
HTC, Samsung, Apple, ZTE, Nokia, Microsoft, Sony, LG, Huawei, blackberry, and Acer are just a few of the top cell phone makers of products from which we all enjoy a device. But not all of them take part in the customization field, this is where Motorola signs over them. With the increasing price on mobile devices, having the freedom of choice should always be an option! Motorola has managed to keep the price pretty much fair on the Moto X, but if other OEMs decide to get in on the game this could be a major break in the mobile industry. But for now I think Motorola safe, and they can keep the price of the Moto X it's $599 for 64GB, $549 for 32GB or $499 for a 16GB.
Moto Maker is currently only offered on the Moto X 2014, but imagine if you could get it on your Nexus 6! Would that not be amazing? I think so!
Right now you have the choice between 4 different leathers backs, 6 warm colors, 4 natural wood backs, 7 cool colors, and 4 neutral colors. On the front you have a choice between black or white. As for your trim, you can choose lemon lime, orange, olive, bronze, royal blue, dark gray, red, gold, violet, or silver. They do have a few cases that you can choose, but I think pretty much all of those are overpriced. As I stated earlier the 16GB model it is included at no cost, The 32GB model is a $50 upgrade, and the 64GB model is $100 upgrade. Please note that the 64GB model is only available on the pier addition unlocked, and is not an option for carriers. You can also get an engraving on the back of your device, and another greeting for when you power the phone on! You even get your choice of your own wallpaper, and you get to select what color charger you want black or white. they will even sync to your Google account if you like!
So I would say that model maker is a fantastic idea, and I wish other manufacturers would do the same. If only I could do this with a Nexus 6, oh my. How the game would change for the better, and I think most would agree. Being limited to just two choices on the Nexus 6, almost killed it for me. But at least I can get a white one...well, if I can find one that is. They are not in stock anywhere, and I am not going to pay $200 to $400 over retail just to get one. Some people purchased them just to turn right around, and resell them. I kinda hate that people do this, but what can you do right? Oh well, for now...we have to enjoy this great idea on only the Moto X.
Hey guys thanks for stopping again. So yes, you heard it right...I've sold my Nexus 6 and for good reason.
On paper, the Moto X is crushed by the Nexus 6. From the QHD display, dual speakers, 805 snapdragon processor, and many other things. But those things are still not enough for me to keep it over the Moto X 2014, let me explain.
First lets talk about pricing, and the Nexus 6 loses that battle. Coming at $649 and $699, it's priced much higher than the Moto X at $399 or $499.
Next size. The Moto X is almost the perfect size for a daily driver, and go into any pocket with ease. Also I must note that the Moto X looks better than the Nexus 6, because you can customize it however you would like.
Next is sound. The Moto X may only have one front speaker, but it still sounds just as good as the Nexus 6 for daily use.
Now performance. The Moto X zooms through he menus, and daily tasks just as well as the Nexus 6 if not faster and smoother. I found myself using my Moto X much more than the Nexus 6, because it was much easier to use with one hand.
Network signal. The Nexus 6 seems to drop service frequently, unlike the Moto X. I never have any issues with the X, but the 6 always drops signal. The strength on the 6 is much weaker than the X.
Cameras on both are very nice, and perform about the same. Having the options to use 4k recording is nice, however 1080p is just fine.
Battery life on the 6 is much better, but not by much. I was able to get about 4 to 5 hours of screen on time with my Nexus 6, and only about 3 to 4 with the Moto X.
Overall, I say the Moto X is a winner her for the reasons I've listed above.
Price, size, performance, and network signal. I hope you are enjoying the Nexus 6, and the Moto X 2014. They are are both great devices, and will deliver on everything you need for daily tasks.
However, my personal experience is the Moto X will do better for more users. I like it better than my Nexus 6, which is why I have sold my Nexus 6. I won't stay away too long, but for now it's a goner.
Later I might pickup a white Nexus 6, because the sides will be silver not purple like the one I have.

As you know this is my second Motorola Moto X. I really enjoyed the first version that I had but it was on Verizon, and there was so much bloatware just couldn't stand it. So I sold the Verizon version and custom made my own version to get the pure of android. So Heariang one week later it shipped to me and I'm really enjoying it. There are a lot of reasons why I want to price a person to pick up the pure addition of the Moto X!
The main reason would be because you're going to get all the updates to android before other phones do. If your person who enjoys stock android you'll really enjoy the stock android feel on the Moto X 2014. With a 5.2 inch display at 1080P, the is resolution is 424 pixels per inch. So you can't go wrong with a full HD display on such a screen. Some might argue that the screen size is the perfect fit, and in such a small body I would have to agree. It weighs about 144g and it is about the same height as an iPhone 6, but there are some things that are better on the Motorola Moto X. For example the Motorola Moto X has Corning gorilla glass 3, is water resistant, it has voice dictation. It also packs a 13 megapixel camera will do LED flash, HDR, panorama, and it records and 4K.
The Motorola Moto X could be considered one of the best smart phones to date, but it does have some drawbacks. It is limited on the memory you can have, 16 or 32 GB and only 2 gigs of RAM. Also the battery is only 2300 mAh, which could be in issue for some people. With me being a heavy user, this is definitely something that I had to take note of. All in all I'm pretty happy with the Moto X so far again this is my second one and I love the first one. But just knowing that your device is going to get all the updates first, and it's pure android with no other software to bog it down it's great! I can go on and on about how great the Moto X is, but the fact is it's not the best phone on the market. With more memory, and upgraded battery it could be at the top of the list.
